Goa, July 23 -- Residents along the newly constructed Western Bypass stretch from Navelim to Benaulim have voiced serious concerns over the complete absence of street lighting, raising alarm over road safety and sanitation issues.

The unlit stretch begins approximately 100 meters from the Navelim petrol pump and extends up to the Benaulim junction, leaving the entire segment in pitch darkness after sunset. Locals claim that the lack of lighting not only endangers motorists and pedestrians but also encourages illegal garbage dumping during the night.
