Goa, Jan. 11 -- A major accident was averted after a Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus collided with a private car at Paddi in Canacona on Saturday. The bus was travelling from Khumta, Karwar, towards Vasco when it rammed into a Maharashtra-registered vehicle moving ahead of it. Fortunately, the occupants of the car, a family, escaped without any injuries.

According to the bus driver, the car in front applied sudden brakes, leaving him with very little time to react and stop the bus. The impact caused damage to the rear portion of the car. Locals soon gathered at the spot, while traffic movement was briefly affected. Police were expected to arrive and conduct a panchanama to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
