India, Nov. 26 -- Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), in coordination with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), successfully conducted a joint mock exercise on disaster management and rescue operations at River Bridge No. 1504 on the Gangavali River, located in Shiroor village along the Gokarna Road-Ankola section.
The exercise aimed to evaluate preparedness, enhance inter-agency coordination, and test response capabilities during emergencies in riverine and bridge environments. Key rescue scenarios simulated during the drill included:
Rescue of drowning persons from the water
Underwater operations conducted by deep divers
Vertical lifting of victims from the river
On-site medical assistance to rescued individuals
