India, Feb. 13 -- Konkan Railway Corporation Limited carried out 1,014 special ticket-checking and vigilance drives across its network in January 2026, detecting 44,736 irregular travellers and recovering 2.53 crore in penalties and fares.
According to official data, the special drives targeted ticketless travel, improper travel, and other passenger irregularities as part of the railway's ongoing efforts to curb revenue leakage and ensure discipline on trains.
With the latest figures added, Konkan Railway's cumulative enforcement data now stands at 9,495 special drives, during which 4,13,637 cases of irregular travel have been detected. A total of 22.81 crore has been recovered through fines and charges so far.
