India, Feb. 4 -- Tremors were felt in parts of Kolkata on Tuesday after a strong earthquake struck neighbouring Myanmar, triggering mild shaking across sections of eastern India. The earthquake is estimated to have a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale. Authorities have reported no casualties or damage so far.

The latest tremor comes a day after two separate earthquakes were recorded in different parts of India. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands early Monday at around 3.30 am. The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at latitude 9.03 North and longitude 92.78 East.
