Goa, Nov. 13 -- Advocate Santosh Malvikar, a tourist from Kolhapur, has alleged that police personnel stationed at the Dodamarg border demanded bribes and harassed travelers entering Goa. He has called for a detailed inquiry into the incident, urging authorities to take strict action against those responsible.
Malvikar said the behaviour of a few errant officers was tarnishing Goa's image as a friendly and tourist-welcoming destination. "It's not the tourists who are defaming Goa, but a few police personnel whose actions bring disrepute to the state," he said.
