Goa, Jan. 6 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing recent remarks by former US President Donald Trump on India's purchase of Russian oil. Referring to an audio clip, Kharge said Trump claimed India was willing to cut Russian oil imports after the US imposed tariffs, and allegedly remarked that Modi wanted to "make him happy." Kharge questioned why the Prime Minister appeared to be "bending" before Trump, saying such conduct was harmful to national interests.
