Goa, March 14 -- Residents of Khanyale Shirange village had been engaged in a continuous hunger strike for the past eight days, aiming to completely halt the illegal core mine operating near their village and within the Tilari dam area. Today, the Maharashtra government responded to their concerns, with the Tehsildar of Dodamarg delivering a letter to the protesters confirming that the mine would be closed for investigation.

Following the receipt of this closure letter, the protest was immediately called off.
