Goa, May 27 -- A joint meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and the Additional Collector to address two pressing civic issues in the city-sewage management in low-lying areas and the deteriorating condition of old buildings.
The meeting focused on finding long-term solutions to the chronic sewage overflow problems in areas such as Khareband, Comba, Malbhat, and Aquem. As part of the proposed solution, it was decided to install pumping stations in five key locations where laying sewage lines is technically unfeasible. Officials revealed that new technology is being introduced specifically to address the challenges in these low-lying zones.
