Goa, Jan. 2 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday dismissed the need for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the Sabarimala gold heist case, stating that the probe being conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of the Kerala High Court is progressing in the right direction and has the trust of the public.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) have both demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI. However, the Chief Minister maintained that the current investigation framework is strong and transparent.
Addressing reporters, Vijayan emphasized that the SIT is working entirely under the High Court's oversight.
