Goa, March 12 -- The Karnataka Excise Department seized 670 liters of Goa-made liquor worth Rs 7.30 lakh from a vehicle on New Gadshed Road, within the jurisdiction of Khadebazaar police station.

The authorities arrested 30-year-old Rakesh Chougule, a resident of New Gadshed Road, Belagavi, in connection with the illegal liquor transport.

The vehicle used for the illegal transport was also seized. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb the illegal liquor trade and enforce excise regulations in the region. Further investigations are underway regarding the origin and destination of the seized liquor.
