Goa, Jan. 8 -- Former Supreme Court judge Justice Ferdino Rebello on Wednesday said he met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and placed 10 key demands before him, asserting that all of them are doable and in public interest. He added that the Chief Minister listened patiently to the concerns raised.
Emphasising that development should not come at the cost of citizens' rights, Justice Rebello said, "Development cannot be at the cost of the people." He reiterated that the core demand remains the scrapping of Sections 17(2) and 39A of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act, which, according to him, have adversely affected public interest.
