Joe Cookies Veterans pipped Verna Veterans 2-0 to move into the semi-finals of first All-Goa 8-a-side veterans football tournament organised by former footballers of Verna at Verna panchayat ground, on Saturday. Verna Veterans started the match on a positive note and was awarded a penalty but star striker Tiago Fernandes' penalty was saved by the Joe Cookies goalkeeper keeping the score in the first half to a goalless draw. In the second half, Joe Cookies went all-out and scored two quick goals through their striker Joe Rose Oliveira. Verna Veterans tired hard to make a comeback in the match with some attacking moves but Joe Cookies Veterans defence stood tall against the rival strikers.
