The sum exceeds his $400,000 White House salary and is double what Barack Obama collects. Experts attribute Biden's payout to his unique career path-44 years in the Senate, eight years as vice president, and the presidency-tapping both the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and the Former Presidents Act (FPA).
