Goa, April 19 -- A 51-year-old man from Jharkhand was apprehended by the Fatorda police on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting his two young nieces. The girls, aged 8 and 9, had been left in his care by their mother, who was away for work commitments.

The mother, originally from Bijapur, Karnataka, reported in her complaint that the suspect had repeatedly assaulted her daughters between March and April. According to police reports, the accused had been inappropriately touching the girls while picking them up from school and had threatened them with death to prevent them from speaking out.
