Goa, Dec. 11 -- Teachers across government and private schools in Jammu and Kashmir have been instructed to monitor and report stray dog activity as part of a broader directive on the "management of stray dogs."
J&K Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the order may have been issued in response to a Supreme Court directive that calls for improved management of stray dogs, particularly around sensitive areas such as schools and hospitals.
"There is a Supreme Court direction on management of stray dogs, removing them from schools and hospitals. I think the orders may have been issued in compliance with the SC order," Ms. Itoo stated.
