Goa, May 4 -- Punjab Kings have announced a replacement for Glenn Maxwell for the remaining matches of IPL 2025. The Australian star was ruled out due to a finger injury. In his place, the franchise has brought in another Australian cricketer, 23-year-old Mitchell Owen, who will join the team for INR 3 crore.
Maxwell's injury came to light just before Punjab Kings' match against Chennai Super Kings. Team captain Shreyas Iyer had revealed that the Australian all-rounder was ruled out due to the injury. Maxwell was bought by Punjab Kings for INR 4.20 crore in the auction, but he managed to score only 48 runs across six innings.
