Goa, April 19 -- In a significant anti-narcotics operation, Anjuna Police arrested an interstate drug peddler on Friday during a well-planned raid near the football ground at Chivar, Vagator.

The accused, identified as 39-year-old Ashish, a resident of Candolim and originally from Kandivali (East), Mumbai, was found in possession of LSD papers with an estimated street value of Rs.2.2 lakh.

The arrest was the result of a coordinated and strategic effort by the staff of Anjuna Police Station, as part of their ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.

Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace the source and potential network behind the drug supply.
