Goa, Dec. 5 -- IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers issued a public apology after the airline faced one of its worst operational crises, with over 1,000 flights cancelled on December 5, disrupting more than half of its daily schedule. He said the airline had been dealing with compounding issues for several days, eventually forcing a large-scale "system reboot" to realign aircraft and crew. Elbers said IndiGo prioritised customer communication, call-centre expansion, and ensuring that stranded passengers at major airports were able to travel.
