Goa, Sept. 19 -- A 30-year-old Indian software engineer from Telangana was fatally shot by police in California after allegedly stabbing his roommate earlier this month. His family, however, has alleged racial discrimination and called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his death.

The deceased, identified as Mohammed Nizamuddin from Mahabubnagar, was shot on September 3 inside his residence in Santa Clara. According to police, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing incident.
