Goa, Oct. 30 -- India strongly criticised "baseless and biased" observations made in a recent United Nations report on the human rights situation in Myanmar during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA). The Indian Parliamentary Delegation, led by Lok Sabha MP Dr D. Purandeswari, attended the opening session and paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's bust at the UN Headquarters.

During a combined briefing by special mandate holders on Myanmar, MP Dilip Saikia reaffirmed India's consistent position supporting a "Myanmar-owned and Myanmar-led" peace process.
