Goa, June 14 -- India is witnessing a renewed surge in COVID-19 cases, with active infections rising to 7,400 as of June 14, 2025. In the past 24 hours alone, the country reported 269 new cases and nine fatalities, according to data from the Union Health Ministry. The majority of recent deaths occurred in Maharashtra (4) and Kerala (3), with one each in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. Eight of the deceased were elderly with chronic illnesses, while the ninth was a 34-year-old man from Maharashtra.
