Goa, July 23 -- India has made a notable improvement in global travel freedom, climbing eight places to secure the 77th spot in the Henley Passport Index 2025. Indian passport holders now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 59 countries, up from 57 last year.

The jump in ranking comes despite the addition of only two new destinations, indicating a relative strengthening of the Indian passport compared to other nations. The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.
