Goa, June 7 -- - India has yet to respond to Pakistan's repeated appeals to reinstate the Indus Waters Treaty, suspended in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The move was part of a broader set of punitive measures announced by New Delhi in response to Islamabad's continued support for cross-border terrorism.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Pakistan's water resources secretary Syed Ali Murtaza has sent four official letters to India's Jal Shakti ministry since April, urging a review of the decision. At least three of the letters were dispatched after India's successful counter-terror operation dubbed Operation Sindoor.
