Goa, Jan. 9 -- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is closely monitoring the situation in the Indo-Pacific following recent Chinese military exercises near Taiwan, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Friday, January 9. India has "an abiding interest in peace and stability" in the region, given its significant trade, economic, maritime, and people-to-people ties. Jaiswal urged all parties to exercise restraint, avoid unilateral actions, and resolve disputes through peaceful dialogue without resorting to force.
