Goa, July 6 -- Former cricketer Yograj Singh, father of Yuvraj Singh, voiced his disappointment after Shubman Gill narrowly missed becoming the first Indian in over a decade to score a triple century in Test cricket. Gill played a breathtaking knock of 269 in the first innings of the second Test against England at Edgbaston but fell just 31 runs short of the landmark.

Reacting to the dismissal, Yograj remarked, "A player's hunger should never die. Saying 'I've scored 200' or '250' - fine, but that's your job, brother. Why did you get out?" While critical of the missed milestone, he also acknowledged Gill's hard work and evolution over the past seven years.
