PANJIM, June 1 -- With formation of low-pressure area over Southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area, Goa has been put on Orange Alert with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely till June 3. Thereafter, on June 4, State will be on Yellow Alert.

The low-pressure area is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during next 48 hours.

Indian Meteorological Observatory (IMD) Goa observatory in a weather bulletin issued has warned fishermen against venturing into the sea during the period due to rough sea conditions and wind speed occurrence at 45-44kmph along the coast.
