Goa, May 23 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for Goa, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across both North and South Goa over the next 24 hours. The alert also includes forecasts of strong winds reaching speeds of 50-60 km/h, with gusts potentially hitting up to 70 km/h.
The IMD urges residents to take necessary precautions, as the intense weather conditions may lead to localized flooding, waterlogging, and disruption in transport and daily activities. Fishermen and coastal communities have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea during this period.
