Goa, May 19 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Goa from May 20 to 22, forecasting very heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds over the coastal state. The weather is expected to remain turbulent through May 23 and 24, for which a yellow alert has also been issued.
The IMD has cautioned against hazardous sea conditions during this period and strongly advised fishermen not to venture into the sea. High wind speeds and rough seas are expected to pose serious safety risks along Goa's coastline.
