Goa, Dec. 12 -- An alleged illegal laterite quarry is operating deep within the forest department's territorial range at Killagalem in Quepem, raising serious concerns about the ongoing plunder of Goa's natural resources. Multiple trucks are reportedly moving through the forest, transporting stones from a freshly excavated hill, while workers continue carving blocks on-site. Despite the scale of activity, authorities appear to be looking the other way, with only one staffer manning the entry point. Residents are questioning who controls this quarry and under whose political protection it continues to function.
