Goa, Jan. 24 -- The ICC has decided to replace Bangladesh with Scotland at the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup after prolonged discussions with the Bangladesh Cricket Board over its refusal to tour India citing security concerns. The decision was communicated to ICC board members via email, stating that Bangladesh was unwilling to play as per the existing schedule in India.

The BCB had informed the ICC that the Bangladesh government had not approved travel to India for the tournament starting February 7. While the BCB sought to approach the ICC's Dispute Resolution Committee, the ICC board had already voted by a clear majority to replace Bangladesh if they did not comply with the schedule.
