Goa, Dec. 2 -- In a landmark move towards inclusivity and social empowerment, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has appointed 20 transgender personnel to its frontline security team. The initiative is being widely hailed as a significant step toward creating a more inclusive public transport environment while simultaneously enhancing commuter safety.

The newly inducted security staff, who completed their formal training recently, officially began duty on Monday. They have been deployed across select Metro stations and inside train coaches, marking an important shift in HMRL's efforts to reinforce safety measures-particularly for women passengers.
