Goa, Nov. 27 -- Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said the notice issued by the Electricity Department about inaccessible meters wasn't a sudden move. He explained that households had already been given a six-month window, starting from June this year, to shift their electricity meters. Responding to the Congress' protest, he stated that he would not change decisions merely because an opposition party objects. Dhavalikar clarified that the department acted only after discussions with Chief Engineers and other officials. He added that the decision was based on practical requirements and stressed that people had ample time to complete the shifting process.
