Goa, Dec. 13 -- A fire broke out at a residential house in Thivim on Friday after a suspected electrical short circuit, causing significant damage to the property.

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately after the incident was reported and managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread to neighbouring houses. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Preliminary assessments by the fire department estimate the loss at around Rs.5 lakh. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
