Goa, April 25 -- The historic Betul Fort, built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is rapidly falling into decay due to years of neglect and inaction by the authorities. Once a symbol of strategic maritime defense, the fort now stands in a dilapidated state, overrun by wild vegetation and facing structural collapse.
Despite repeated assurances from the Archaeology Minister, the Department of Archaeology has yet to undertake any meaningful steps toward its preservation. The lack of maintenance has drawn strong criticism from local residents and heritage conservationists, who are alarmed by the deteriorating condition of this culturally significant monument.
