Goa, July 22 -- The High Court has directed the Director of Municipal Administration (DMA) to initiate an investigation into serious allegations against the Chief Officer of Cuncolim Municipal Council, accused of shielding illegal constructions in exchange for alleged protection money.
The court noted the presence of multiple illegal structures within Cuncolim jurisdiction and expressed concern over the alleged inaction of the municipal authorities. The Chief Officer is alleged to have ignored or protected these constructions instead of taking lawful action, raising questions of administrative complicity.
