Goa, May 22 -- The recent spell of heavy pre-monsoon rains has once again brought to light the persistent infrastructure challenges faced by commuters in Salcete, particularly at the road underpasses near the Konkan railway tracks. Both the Seraulim and Comba subways were affected by flooding, with the Seraulim subway forced to close to traffic due to severe waterlogging. Although vehicles were able to navigate the Comba subway, the situation remains precarious, as even moderate rainfall can render these crucial crossings unusable. The Seraulim subway, in particular, is notorious for remaining closed throughout the monsoon season and beyond, a consequence of long-standing drainage issues that have yet to be resolved.
