Goa, May 21 -- Heavy rainfall in Goa on Tuesday led to significant waterlogging at the Eassar Trade Centre in Mapusa, causing water to enter multiple ground floor shops. The flooding resulted in damage to goods and substantial financial losses for several shop owners.
As rainwater inundated the premises, emergency water motors were brought in to pump out the accumulated water. Despite the efforts, many shops experienced damage to stock and infrastructure.
In response to the incident, some shopkeepers have begun taking precautionary measures by constructing small brick barriers at their entrances to prevent future flooding.
