PANJIM, June 4 -- Heavy rains coupled with gusty winds resulted into power cuts across the State, which caused inconvenience to the public at large.

Complaints of feeder tripping, insulator and transformer failures and snapping of wires were reported from several parts of the State. The situation kept Electricity Department officials on their toes throughout day and night.

While power supply was restored in many parts within few hours of the downpour, many households were left waiting for resumption of electricity supply till late Tuesday night, while few had to wait till early Wednesday morning.
