Goa, Sept. 2 -- As the monsoon season continues to batter North India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued severe weather alerts across the region. Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, is under a heavy rainfall warning, while Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand face red alerts for extremely heavy rainfall, flash floods, and potential landslides throughout September.
Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir remain on orange alert for heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to order closures of schools, colleges, and offices, with work-from-home arrangements recommended. Chandigarh schools will remain closed on Tuesday, and Jammu & Kashmir has instructed institutions to shift to online classes wherever possible.
