Goa, June 2 -- A large contingent of police personnel was deployed outside Junta House in Panaji on Monday ahead of a planned protest by taxi operators. The protest is being staged in opposition to the new app aggregator guidelines introduced by the government.

Taxi associations have voiced strong concerns over the proposed digital regulation framework, arguing that it undermines traditional taxi operations and benefits private app-based platforms.

The heavy security presence is aimed at ensuring law and order, as tensions continue to rise between local taxi operators and authorities. As of now, the situation remains peaceful, but authorities are monitoring the area closely.
