Goa, Dec. 29 -- A private car, reportedly hired by passengers, was involved in a head-on collision while travelling from Calangute towards Mapusa after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The car mounted the road divider and crashed into another vehicle heading from Mapusa towards Parra Road.

The driver of the oncoming car and his family sustained minor injuries in the accident. Mapusa Police reached the site shortly after being alerted, but the driver of the hired vehicle is said to have fled before authorities arrived.

Further investigation is underway and more details are awaited.
