INDIA, Dec. 5 -- The Bombay High Court in Goa has granted release to one of the 52 African nationals accused in the 2013 Porvorim highway riot case. The court noted that foreigners released on bail cannot be kept in prolonged detention and must instead be issued the necessary visa documents so authorities can monitor them. The accused was originally arrested in 2013 on charges of attempted murder after large-scale unrest, when a group of African nationals blocked the highway to protest the killing of their colleague. He was granted bail the same year.
