Goa, Nov. 28 -- The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday dismissed a writ petition filed by Siddiqui 'Suleman' Khan, who is accused in multiple land-grabbing cases across the State.
Suleman, known for his notoriety, had filed a criminal writ petition alleging that his arrest was illegal, claiming that the police failed to provide written grounds for his detention, thereby violating Article 22(1) of the Constitution and provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The Court rejected all his arguments and dismissed the petition.
Suleman, who was earlier arrested on November 12, 2024, had escaped from Crime Branch custody on December 13 last year but was later rearrested in Kerala.
