Goa, Oct. 14 -- The historic Shri Hanuman Natya Gruha in Mapusa, a landmark of North Goa's performing arts heritage, reopened on Friday following extensive renovation and modernisation. The upgraded 750-seat theatre was inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, in the presence of MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D'Souza, and Mapusa Municipal Chairperson Priya Mishel.

CM Sawant praised Shri Maharudra Sansthan, which manages the theatre, for reviving the 50-year-old institution using its own resources, calling it "an exemplary effort in preserving Goa's cultural identity."
