Goa, Jan. 19 -- Seven security personnel were injured in a gunbattle with terrorists in the forested upper reaches of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday, officials said. Three injured personnel were airlifted for medical treatment.

"Based on a tip-off about two to three terrorists in the area, a cordon and search operation was launched near Son Nar village in Chatroo around noon," officials said. Terrorists fired at the search party, and troops retaliated.

The operation, named Trashi-I by the Army's Jammu-based White Knight Corps, saw reinforcements from the Army, CRPF, and police tighten the cordon. Drones and helicopters were deployed to support the ongoing encounter. This marks the third such confrontation in Jammu this ...
