CANACONA, Aug. 4 -- Canacona police arrested Fondu Gaonkar, a resident of Gullem in Canacona under Section 3 read with 25 of Arms Act over alleged illegal possession of a gun and other items.
Police said Gaonkar was caught redhanded by forest officials with illegal possession of a single bore muzzle loading gun, gun powder, ball bearings and firing caps. Later, he was handed to police by the forest officials. Canacona police sources said the accused was caught with above material from the reserved forest of Chapoli and accordingly was placed under arrest after following Supreme Court guidelines.
