Goa, Nov. 27 -- A Congress delegation led by GPCC President Amit Patkar met the Chief Electrical Engineer after residents raised concerns about the confusing electricity department notice. Patkar said the instructions to shift meters outside homes lack clarity. The notice demands consumers make their meters accessible by 28th November, but most meters are fixed on house walls with a gap between the structure and the compound. Moving them outside could mean relocating meters into the compound. Officials claimed this was for emergency access during fires or short circuits. Patkar responded that flames would reach the meter anyway, highlighting why he finds the notice illogical.
