PANJIM, Jan. 17 -- In a major exercise ahead of presenting the State Budget 2021-22, the government has initiated the process to recover nearly Rs 83 crore, provided in the form of various grants, to departments and corporations, over their failure to utilise the money.

Following directions from Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, the State Finance department had conducted an exercise to inspect the bank account details of different departments and autonomous bodies to oversee the expenditure done by them from the annual budgetary allocation made.
