Goa, Dec. 12 -- The government has imposed the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) in the state, placing an immediate ban on all strikes connected to the pharmaceutical sector. The order covers manufacturing units, packaging facilities, distribution networks, and the transport services linked to these operations. Officials said the move aims to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential medicines and related products. The directive, issued today, comes into force at once and will remain in effect for six months. Authorities have urged all stakeholders to comply to avoid any disruption in essential services.
